Delish New York Bakery

Delish New York Bakery, located by Whole Foods at the Turkey Lake-Sand Lake Road intersection in Dr.Phillips, has a number of baked items that definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. This bakery is unique compared to others that I have been to because it serves as a one-stop shop for freshly-baked goods such as cupcakes, custom cakes, New York-style bagels, and café sandwiches–clearly, there are a ton of delicious options to choose from! Pearleen and I specifically went to try out their cupcakes. The owners of this bakery were very welcoming and hospitable, and they prepared several of their cupcake flavors for us to try, which was very nice.

We were able to sample several cupcakes, which included:

• Buttermilk Spice: buttermilk spice cake topped with sweet cream cheese icing
• Cappuccino: cappuccino cake topped with cappuccino buttercream icing
• Cannoli: nicely flavored cake topped with chocolate chip cannoli cream and covered in ganache
• Chocolate: chocolate cake topped with chocolate buttercream icing
• Chocolate Coconut: chocolate coconut cake topped with coconut buttercream icing and covered in chocolate ganache
• Chocolate Peanut Butter: chocolate cake topped with peanut butter buttercream icing
• Cookies & Cream: cookies & cream cake topped with cookies & cream buttercream icing
• Lemon: lemon cake topped with lemon buttercream icing
• Marble: vanilla & chocolate cake topped with a swirl of chocolate and vanilla buttercream icing
• New Yorker in Paradise: banana, coconut, and pineapple-infused cake topped with sweet cream cheese icing
• Raspberry-Filled: white cake filled with raspberry jam and topped with raspberry-buttercream icing
• Red Velvet: red velvet cake topped with sweet cream cheese icing
• S’mores: graham cracker cake topped with marshmallows and a chocolate ganache
• Strawberry Cheesecake: strawberry-flavored cake with strawberry cream cheese icing
• Vanilla: white cake topped with buttercream icing and sprinkles

It’s hard to say which cupcake at Delish New York Bakery was my favorite because so many of them were–delish! I definitely preferred the cupcakes that had the cream cheese frosting, especially the New Yorker in Paradise because the frosting complemented the cake flavor so well. Pearleen and I really liked the Red Velvet, Buttermilk Spice, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Chocolate Coconut as well. One very unique cupcake that I tried was the S’mores cupcake. I loved that it infused a widely-loved camping treat into a cupcake. There were graham crackers crumbs in the cake, and the marshmallow top was covered in a layer of chocolate ganache. I liked that the cupcakes were not overly sweet but still had great flavor, something that I think cupcake bakeries tend to overlook at times. I recommend even pairing some of the cupcakes with a cup of coffee.

Overall, Delish New York Bakery cupcakes are very enjoyable and unique compared to cupcakes that I have had at other bakeries; Delish New York Bakery has a great atmosphere that makes you want to relax and enjoy the food. Their prices are also fair. I’ll definitely be making a trip back when they begin selling their Pumpkin-flavored cupcakes for the holidays, and I plan on trying their New York bagels next time!
