I’ve always thought the Cappuccino Stout was an Imperial Stout and it wasn’t until recently, actually just minutes ago while researching the details for this post that I found that it actually is a Stout. Why was I so misinformed you ask, well that is because on Stouts usually contain alcohol in the range of 6%-8%, while Imperial Stouts have a higher 9%-13% alcohol content as well as a much richer and intense flavor, which is what the Cappuccino Stout is.
The Cappuccino Stout is brewed with lots of dark malts, roasted barley and coffee, lots of coffee. You will notice it’s aroma is mainly composed of coffee with a little bit of chocolate and roasted malts, all of which work nicely together. The flavor is rich in coffee with some chocolate and malt at the end with little alcohol present, which is a quite an accomplishment for a beer clocking in at 9.26% alcohol.
Overall the Cappuccino Stout is a very easy to drink stout that has some great flavors. I really enjoyed this Stout and look forward to picking up another one next release.
