We were invited to a private screening/tasting at the newly renovated AMC Theater at Downtown Disney. If you couldn’t guess by now, the new AMC Fork and Screen is a dine-in theater featuring a full liquor bar in the lobby along with full dinner service inside the Theater.

Unlike most of the dine-in theaters I’ve been to where you would seat in round dinner tables, AMC Fork and Screen features your typical theater seating configuration with sections of 4, wider-than-normal, side-by-side seats, with a table in front of each set of seats.

Our orders were quickly taken upon seating and the food was delivered after the movie had started with minimum interruption from the servers. Each seat gets its own button to call a server in case anything else is needed during the movie.

You will notice that much thought was put into designing this theater. Although there are lights on the table in front of each seat, they will quickly fade away out of your field of vision once the movie begins. The servers are dressed in all black and move through the theater almost unnoticed as you enjoy your movie.

We ordered:
Crab Rangoon Dip
“Our secret herbs and spices blended with hot white Cheddar, cream cheese and crab, served with a plate of fresh wonton chips (7.99)”

Parmesan Fries
“Deep fried until crispy and tossed with our seasoned salt, grated Parmesan cheese and Italian flat leaf parsley. Served with ketchup and garlic basil aioli (6.99)”

Southwest Fajita Chicken Wrap
“Melted Cheddar Jack cheese and grilled chicken, fire-grilled red and green bell peppers and diced tomatoes rolled in a flour tortilla. Served with sour cream and salsa (8.99)”

Smoked Salmon BLT
“Hot smoky salmon paired with hickory bacon, crisp lettuce and sliced tomatoes on our kaiser roll. Dressed with garlic basil aioli and served with potato chips (10.99)”

The food looks good! How was the taste? I think it’s a great idea, but I’ve only tried the Plaza theater so far.
The food was decent. I little on the greasy side. I liked the Parmesan fries, the fries were nice and crispy and very tasty. I wasn’t a big fan of the Salmon and the bacon in the Salmon BLT, both were a bit on the dry side.
Well, the best way I can describe the experience is eating TGI Fridays in the dark. It is a nice option to have for the parents with the full liquor bar and certain areas of the theater is only 21 and up. Sounds like, break time for mommy and daddy!
