Cigar City Papaya IPA

Beer: Papaya India Pale Ale
Brewery: Cigar City Brewing
Style: India Pale Ale
ABV: 7.5%
Availability: Unknown

Cigar City Papaya IPA is their traditional Jai Alai IPA with unsweetened, dried papaya added post fermentation. At a glance this beer is very appetizing. It’s a nice bright orange color with a nice and fresh citrus/fruity aroma. I expected more papaya from this, but the papaya was extremely subtle.

To me, the papaya IPA is very similar to the Jai Alai. I have tried most of Cigar City’s IPAs, the Jai Alai, the Humidor Jai Alai, the White Oak Jai Alai and not the Papaya IPA. My favorite of the 4 is the Humidor Jai Alai with the White Oak Jai Alai being a very close second, though they are all excellent.
