Finesse (n: the restaurant)

Finesse (n: the restaurant) is this new establishment that opened early March of 2011. This wonderful hidden gem is located in the Lake Mary/Heathrow area. Yes, I said it! In Lake Mary… and it is not a franchise either! How Mega Yummo is that??

Not only that this place is a locally owned restaurant but it is also a restaurant that strives to buy everything locally! As they say it, “always beginning with fresh and bold ingredients.”

“pan•seared•grouper  (n: lobster risotto cake, vegetable tangle, blood orange-peppercorn redux)”

The fish by itself is really plain and not very exciting but when you pair it up with the lobster risotto cake… that bite was just a punch of all kinds of flavor. Although this dish was delicious, I felt that it could have been better had they used a different fish like Sea Bass or Snapper.

“chimi•skirt•steak  (n: grilled angus skirt, “melted” cabernet onions, “shoe-fries”, abuela’s chimi)”

Super tender steak with mega flavorful chimichurri sauce. It is a melt in your mouth experience! Highly recommend this dish. Everything was perfect about this dish!

“chocolate•oranje•molten•cake  (n: ghirardelli chocolate, ganache center, peanut butter anglaise”

This is a chocolate souffle taken to the next level. The orange flavored chocolate ganache with a light peanut butter was so good! It is made fresh to order so be sure to put your order early because it takes about 20 minutes to make.

This place is being compared to Winter Park’s Ravenous Pig, a modern American, Gastropub that serves locally grown ingredients on a menu that changes with the seasons. Ok, I will give you that… Finesse is “LIKE” Ravenous Pig but I would have to argue that it is BETTER than Ravenous Pig. On the note of this:

1. They provide an outstanding Sunday Brunch. -GOOD news for you Sunday Brunch-goers but  bad news for Dexter’s.

2. A lunch/dinner menu at a very reasonable price. -Lunch menu is different from the dinner menu but definitely a great choice for my fellow budget-conscious readers. You can sample high quality foods from their lunch menu ranging from $5-$15.

3. Finesse has a wide selection of craft beers to pair with your well crafted meals. They have a cross-marketing with World of Beer so they can get their hands on some of the finest artisan beers out there. -Making it a perfect meeting place for those craft beer lovers.

If you are interested in trying their brunch … you better get there early! They are growing popular by the second especially when they are offering free Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and Bellinis.

I am anxious to come back and I am anxious to see what next month’s menu will have to offer! I think when I am out there visiting my parents perhaps I will treat them to this venue, of course on the account of good behavior.

To all my friends out in Lake Mary, you have to take your friends and family to experience this wonderful savior-faire… I promise you that you will be in love with Lake Mary’s new addition.

This is not to say that I am excluding everyone else… if you are in the area… it is a must try! And don’t worry about being under dressed or over dressed…this place accommodates all who appreciates quality food.
