It seems that craft beer/spirits have become more and more part of the mainstream market lately. One interesting variety is B. Nektar, a meadery from Michigan that makes craft meads. B. Nektar makes a variety of meads from different types of honey to achieve different flavored meads.
The mead I tried was the Wildberry Pyment. A Pyment is a mead made with grapes and honey. B. Nektar’s Wildberry Pyment also has wildberry concentrate. The resulting mead is fairly sweet, rich and full bodied.
Although I’m not into sweet drinks, I found this mead to be excellent, though I probably could not drink more than a glass or so. B. Nektar suggests using the Wildberry Pyment to make sangria. I may try this next time.
