It is a beautiful night in Orlando and dinner at Ceviche was just awesome! It was my first time there and I was impressed with my fiancé’s choice of tapas. Since I was feeling for something sweet, I glanced over their dessert menu and there was not anything that spoke to me. It was all the usual dessert listings and I was soon turned off on the idea for dessert. -I mean, how can you compete when you are right across the street from the Dessert Lady? They have just awesome AWESOME desserts!
I have been to the one on Kirkman with my friend Lauren and was in awed with rich and quality taste of all of their cakes. Their cakes are all made from scratch with of course with the special ingredient of LOVE. Just kidding, but really though, their cakes are Super Mega Yummo!
But! How does this Dessert Lady in Downtown Orlando live up to such high standards?
Well, for starters, it is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando, so there is a big plus because anyone would be able to find it (and it is much, MUCH closer to me than the one on Kirkman.)
Another point to make is that this location seems to have a different taste in interior design. Very romantic and intimate which is great to take your special someone to after dinner or your best girlfriend to for girl talk over a nice cup of coffee.
This location not only offers unique cakes and hot drinks like coffee or tea; they also have a pretty good listing of beer and wine.
The Dessert Lady had a bit of everything for anyone in the mood of a quiet or romantic night out.
So you may wonder… “What did you end up ordering?”
Well I chose to go with my server’s recommendation of the Chocolate Zuccotto; described as, “An architectural wonder. Amaretto soaked chocolate cake surrounding layers of dark chocolate and white chocolate mousse. Coated with ganache served with a raspberry sauce and sliced almonds.”
I am not a chocolate lover, but this cake sure has convinced me to be one! It was not too sweet and had a very refreshing taste. It was very moist and soft and had an unbelievable flavor to the cake. This one over-sized slice of goodness was punished by two people with appetite and no shame. Just thinking about it is making me salivate! Do I have to say more? But I will mention though that it was truly a MEGA YUMMO experience and I would have to give props to the girls at The Dessert Lady for recommending this absolutely delicious and beautifully crafted cake.
