My parents in another state said they enjoyed Abuelo’s, so one day we were looking for our favorite steakhouse, only to find Texas Roadhouse closed down.
We drove on, and ended up at Abuelo’s. What a disappointment.
Salsa, bad. Guacamole, bad. Beans and rice, bad.
Then, I figured it out: “Grandpa” in traditional Mexican culture does not cook. No wonder. I’d love to find a “Abuela’s” restaurant in Orlando with some really good Mexican food, with home made tortillas. THAT would be awesome. (Sorry, Abuelo) And, I must add: The ugly murals on the wall, imitating the great works of Diego Rivera, were just awful. Who would do that???
