Located in South Tampa on South Macdill Ave.
This is a great place to go for lunch. They have a variety of fresh bread, salads, sandwiches, and crispy flat bread pizza to choose from. I have been there for dinner and their menu is COMPLETELY different (I would have to note that it was expensive!) But the lunch menu is moderately priced but fair for being in South Tampa.
I went there with my family and the place was just PACKED during the lunch hour. The strategy is right when you walk in; one person should jump in line while the other hunts for an open table.
At the front counter, you will stand there in awe by the colorful and crisp thin crust pizza and you will be taken by the smell of freshly baked bread and cookies.
Their menu is extensive and unpredictable. Their creative chefs are keeping everyone on their toes by whipping up something new to try on their Specials-of-the-day menu.
When I was there I tried their fresh Focaccia bread with: “Fennel & Lemon Ahi Tuna Melt, Gruyere Cheese, Arugula and Tomatos.” It came to me beautifully placed on a white plate with a side of fingerling potatoes. The sandwich was full of flavors and the bread was extremely soft and fluffy! The tantalizing blend of ingredients was very exclusive but the flavors that stood out most to me was the sweet caramelized onions which offset the taste of the Ahi and the slight pungent taste of the gruyere cheese.-It was needless to say MEGA YUMMO!
Though I should have been satisfied with my order but I wanted to eat what my fiancé ordered; he had the, “Wood Fired Burger Aioli, White and Yellow Cheddar Cheese with Greens and Tomatoes.” The melted gooey white and yellow cheddar cheese marbleized the face of the patty and jointed together was their rich and sweet mayonnaise that created a synergy of savory goodness. This most succulent and juicy burger will leave anyone’s taste buds satisfied with pleasure.
If a place like this intimidates you because there is just so much to choose from, you can never go wrong with their pizza like this spicy sausage and pepperoni thin crust pizza.
Or if you looking for something light, you can’t go wrong with one of their fresh gourmet salads like this Rustica Salad, field greens, fresh mozzarella, roasted garlic, tomato, kalamata olives, with balsamic vinaigrette all topped with warm polenta croutons.
All and all, Pane Rustica, a family owned business, provides a great atmosphere for eating with your family and friends. Their service is prompt and friendly and caters to all taste buds. It is great for lunches, moderately priced, and serves mean raspberry tea.
