Datz Delicatessen

We were invited to go out to Datz Delicatessen’s Grand Opening and to celebrate our friend’s birthday.

You may think, “Datz Deli, oh it just a deli…”

Wrong!

They are more than just a deli. They are a restaurant, a wine bar, a sports bar, bakery, coffee shop, an ice cream parlor, and a whole foods store squeezed into one unique joint located in South Tampa on Macdill Avenue.

I think the question we should be asking is, “What do they NOT have?”

It is NOT a chain! The owners, husband and wife, has never had a restaurant before and had this idea about a 1 1/2 years ago to launch this “tricky place!” So rest assure, this is the ONE and ONLY! (Thanks Suzanne Perry for the added info!)

The down-to-earth owners were so grateful for everyone coming out for their grand opening. They were serving free food but then fell short of food because they underestimated the power of “word of mouth.” However, it didn’t stop me!

I was able to snag some of their free sandwiches and was able to sample their sandwiches before their supply went dry.

All their sandwiches were made with freshest ingredients:

• Fresh bread
• Fresh meats
• Fresh vegetables
• Fresh sauces

It was MEGA YUMMO! They have such an extensive selection of beer, it was about 4 pages worth! (Well, I should probably say, they have an extensive list of everything!) This All-American restaurant is a great place to take your friends out just to hang out… Guys’ night out, Girls’ night out, or a night out into town with your HOT date.

If you are:

• an avid beer drinker or
• a beer connoisseur or
• just a beer adventurist

This is a great place to go!

The same speaks true to wine drinkers and big eaters like me. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly and helpful. This place is fun, friendly, and family-oriented and I adore that in a restaurant/bar/deli/bakery/etc.

So this one is for you Todd, Happy Flippin’ Birthday! It was a MEGA YUMMO Choice!
